Plot location: 0.66 km NNE of the summit of Halls Point.
Rock Types Present: small metabasalt outcrops and debris.
An oligotrophic forest dominated by stunted, somewhat gnarled Quercus montana. Two species that are generally uncommon in the Watery Mountains are abundant on this rocky, infertile, NW-facing slope: Kalmia latifolia and Betula lenta. This plot and plot WATM003, which also contains Kalmia latifolia, have the lowest species richness values among 59 plots sampled in the Watery Mountains.
